JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Licenses / Certifications: Idaho State RN License. BLS/ACLS, TNCC, PALS and NRP required.

Experience: Previous ICU/ER experience highly preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Clinical competence in critical care nursing, knowledge, and skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

ASSESSMENTS --Demonstrates knowledge of nursing process-assessment, intervention, reassessment, management, and patient/family education

MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION--Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.

QUALITY--Demonstrates the knowledge of proper identification and reporting of medical/health errors. Protects the patient in the event of a medical/health care error and as appropriate, assists in medical/health error resolution.

PATIENT CARE--Provides care and demonstrates skills comparable to peers with experience and training under like circumstances. Demonstrates competence in reporting victims of abuse according to established hospital standards and state and local laws. Waived testing: evaluation, observation and written documentation of bedside testing completed for Blood Glucose testing. Demonstrates knowledge of infection prevention and control policies, i.e. Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions, personal protective equipment, aseptic technique, and hand hygiene Demonstrates knowledge of restraint and seclusion. Able to explain policy, including assessment, documentation and orders. Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Emergency Operations Plan.
