This position is located at the Department of Administration State Office Building,101 East Wilson Street, Madison, WI. This position currently has the flexibility to work remotely. Additional time in the office may be required depending on training and operational needs. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Position Summary
This limited term position will support the development of internal and external communication materials, including social media, creating videos, and providing support for external events and webinars, media monitoring and outreach, and stakeholder engagement. In addition, this position may support internal DOA employee communication and engagement efforts, including DOA Town Halls, weekly newsletter, and assistance with writing copy. This position will work with the public, state and local agencies, community interest and advocacy organizations, news, and print media.
Salary Information
Starting hourly rate for the Communications Specialist position (schedule/range 07-05) will be $20.00 per hour - $23.00 per hour.
Job Details
This position will require the ability to travel statewide for conferences, trainings, and meetings.
This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students.
