The Medical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for leading a laboratory department, with direct oversight of staff who perform clinical laboratory testing specific to that laboratory department. The MLS Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:Performs laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis. Ensures department documentation is complaint with hospital and regulatory guidelines and ensures the department is in working order as assigned. Oversees quality control, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs (minor and major), inventory control, and statistical compilation. Leads and participates in the performance improvement and quality assurance process, education and proficiency testing.
