Construction Superintendent Water/Wastewater

We are seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to support a growing portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the western U.S. and on federal projects nationwide. These roles are available in two primary formats: Office-Based Roles: Supporting regional and local projects out of one of our established offices, with regular site presence and limited travel depending on project needs Traveling Federal Team: Supporting complex, remote, or federally funded projects across the U.S., often on a rotation schedule with per diem, housing, and travel support provided This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure projects ranging from municipal upgrades to complex, logistically challenging installations.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent delivering water and/or wastewater construction projects through execution, startup, and closeout
  • Strong field knowledge of mechanical and process systems, including equipment installation, piping, and coordination for startup and commissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to: Lead field crews and subcontractors Drive project schedules and maintain production targets Coordinate daily and weekly work planning across trades
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and field problem-solving
  • Commitment to safety leadership, including enforcement of safety standards, audits, and daily practices
  • Solid documentation practices including daily reports, inspections, and field tracking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on federal projects with strict compliance, safety, and documentation requirements
  • Background working for a general contractor and/or subcontractor in public works or industrial environments
  • Experience supporting: Remote or travel-based project teams Rotation schedules, per diem, and field logistics
  • Experience on projects ranging from $5M to $30M+, including multi-phase scopes
  • Experience working in challenging environments (remote sites, restricted access, complex logistics)
  • Familiarity with commissioning support and turnover processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field execution of water/wastewater construction projects from mobilization through commissioning and closeout
  • Manage and coordinate daily field operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans
  • Develop and drive short-interval and lookahead schedules to maintain production and sequencing across trades
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables
  • Oversee installation of mechanical/process systems, ensuring quality and readiness for startup and commissioning
  • Partner with project management to support: Schedule updates Procurement coordination Change management and field impacts
  • Maintain strong site logistics planning, including material staging, access, and workflow optimization
  • Enforce safety protocols and lead by example to maintain a strong safety culture on site
  • Maintain accurate and timely field documentation, including: Daily reports Inspections Quality tracking and punch lists
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays or rework
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure systems are installed and prepared for successful startup
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, risks, and upcoming work

Work Environment & Flexibility

Office-Based Roles: Primarily aligned with one of our regional offices, with consistent presence on local job sites and occasional travel as needed

Office Locations:

  • California Livermore (Corporate HQ), Escondido (Southwest HQ), Lathrop (Northwest HQ), Valencia, Bakersfield
  • Colorado Lafayette (Mountain HQ)
  • Idaho Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello

Traveling/Federal Roles: Assigned to projects nationwide, often in remote or high-complexity environments

  • Rotation schedules may apply (e.g., 8 days on / 6 days off or similar)
  • Company-supported travel, housing, and per diem provided
