The Workday Reporting Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in Workday reporting tools, responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex reports and dashboards.
The ideal candidate will work closely with People & Culture (P&C) Partners, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Workforce Analytics Teams to deliver accurate, high-quality data that drives strategic decision-making.
This role involves managing business-as-usual (BAU) reporting needs, resolving incidents, and contributing to large-scale HR data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise on Workday reporting tools and map business requirements to appropriate reporting solutions.
Support Workforce Analytics Teams by providing qualified and enriched Workday data for analysis and reporting.
Manage BAU reporting needs, handle change requests, and resolve complex service incidents.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
Deliver on strategic P&C data projects that span multiple business functions.
Collaborate with P&C Partners and COEs to optimize existing reports, standardize reporting processes, and improve usability.
Foster a strong data culture across the organization, promoting data literacy and self-service analytics.
Handle Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (SPII) responsibly and in compliance with company policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Must Have Skills / Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Reporting, including Report Writer, Absence, Time Tracking, Calculated Fields, and Compensation reports.
5+ years of experience in Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced functions, and data validation techniques.
5+ years of experience using cloud-based workflow automation platforms (e.g., ServiceNOW, Monday.com, Jira).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects and workflows effectively.
Excellent stakeholder communication and prioritization skills.
Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements:
Workday PRISM experience.
Tableau experience for data visualization and dashboarding.
Soft Skills:
Proven expertise in Workday Reporting and Prism Analytics with hands-on experience in Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports.
Experience creating and managing dashboards in Workday; familiarity with Client Boards is a plus.
Strong background in HR transformation projects, preferably in a consulting environment.
Deep understanding of the Workday Object Model, Report Writer, and Calculated Field development.
Knowledge of best practices for Workday report development and governance.
Strong business acumen in HR processes, including position management, workforce planning, and employee lifecycle.
Understanding of Workday Security configurations and their impact on reporting and data access.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Technology Requirements:
Expertise in data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and familiarity with data visualization platforms (preferably Tableau).
Qualification and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Certifications preferred: Workday HCM Certified (Pro or Implementer)
Workday Advanced Reporting Certified (Pro or Implementer).
Workday Prism Certified (Pro or Implementer).
