Overview

Extension Educators Coordinator 4 - Farm Business Analysis Remote. This is a grant funded, intermittent part-time position for the Ohio Farm Business Analysis Program. Location: Remote with flexible work options; travel may be required as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Promote, support, and implement the Ohio Farm Business Analysis Program.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager, County Extension Agriculture Educators, and Ohio farmers to collect financial and production data.
  • Use data to complete annual financial analyses, meeting prescribed standards of accuracy.
  • Educate farmers about balance sheet, cash flow, income statement, and crop/livestock enterprise composition, data assembly, and allocation during the data collection process.
  • Plan and schedule farm business analysis and program work; review and prepare analyses for inclusion in the Ohio database and summary.
  • Participate in annual data review meetings; gather, organize, and maintain information and communications with farmer clients.
  • Assist in evaluating the program with identified target audiences; participate in initial and ongoing training to develop farm business analysis skills using FINPACK software, learn Ohio procedures, and learn data handling methods to ensure consistency across Ohio.
  • Promote the Farm Business Analysis Program to farmer and industry audiences and recruit participants in one-on-one and group settings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field may be preferred.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required; 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Pay range: $18.37 - $23.99 hourly
  • Work period: January through June (hours vary based on data availability)
