Responsible for booking the daily surgical schedule, utilizing the scheduling policy. Schedules cases according to the resources available, such as equipment, beds, and instrumentation. Coordinates cases with anesthesia, radiology, lab, pathology, endoscopy, or respiratory therapy, and booking in the appropriate computer program area. Notifies the manufacturer representatives that cases are booked that require their equipment, prosthesis, or supplies. Validates physician vacation time on a quarterly/weekly basis to ensure that unused surgical times are released to all physicians. Verifies that inpatient/outpatient cases are booked appropriately according to the CMS guidelines. Performs reception and secretarial needs for the perioperative department. Qualifications. Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a medical secretarial training course or equivalent previous medical office experience.
