Immediate opening! We are looking for a reliable person to fill the role of direct support professional for individuals with disabilities in the Pocatello area. Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others?

Now hiring for a Monday-Friday 6pm-11pm shift.

Direct Support Professionals will assist the participants in the following ways:

• Self-direction - making decisions and choices affecting the individual's life, initiating changes in living arrangements or life activities;
• Money management - training or assistance in handling personal finances, making purchases, and meeting personal financial obligations;
• Daily living skills training - accomplishing routine housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, self-administration of medications, and other areas of living;
• Socialization - training or assistance in participant in general community activities, identify specific training activities and, working out arrangements to participant in activities.
• Mobility - training or assistance aimed at enhancing movement within the person's living arrangement, mastering the use of adaptive aids and equipment, accessing and using public transportation, independent travel or movement within the community.

What do you need to apply?

Qualifications:

• Compassionate, reliable and provide excellent care
• High school graduate or G.E.D
• At least 6 months of paid experience, or 1 year of unpaid experience caring for and inspiring others (preferred, but will train serious applicants)
• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
• Have good judgment and able to handle crisis situations
• Possess a valid driver's license, and have use of an insured automobile
• At least 18 years of age
