Job Description
Provides technical support for programs and organizational activities to convey information, determine compliance, and resolve difficult situations; uses expertise in the implementation and maintenance of technical program guidelines; perform related work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all front office clinic services including: patient scheduling, telephone inquiries, collecting patient fees, referral coordinator, insurance billing, payment posting, compliance management, resolving difficult situations with various constituents, document management (Electronic Medical Record, Financial systems etc.) and day to day clinic operations as directed by the clinic director. They will provide a variety of detail-oriented tasks needing complete accuracy to maximize clinic revenue cycle management. Functions with considerable independence and exercise discretion in applying policies and procedures working with patients, vendors, and insurance companies. Back-office services include, performing basic patient care functions to assist the nursing/clinical staff in a medical clinic with the examination or treatment of patients; perform related work under the direction of the physician or provider. This position is 32 hours per week, working Monday through Friday, approximately 6 hours per day.

Key Responsibilities
Electronic Medical Record System Management:
* Maintains patient electronic medical records and ensures that information is complete and accurate (20%).
Revenue Cycle Management:
* Responsible for collecting and depositing patient and insurance payments with complete accuracy. Assist in AR management (30%).
Clinic Operations:
* Responsible for daily clinic operations including: opening/closing clinic, assisting patients, answering phone, assisting with paperwork, medical records, etc. (25%).
* Insurance/ Medicaid Compliance: coordinates with clinicians ensuring documentation is completed/returned within insurance and Medicaid guidelines (10%).
Clinics Director of Operations Support:
* Assists the Clinic Director/Manager of Operations in special projects as needed to support clinic operations (5%).
* Assist nurses or physicians in the operation of medical equipment or provision of individual's care (10%).
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
* Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors.
* Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs.
* Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues.
* Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations.
* Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system.
* Composing and proofreading business correspondence.
Specialty Items
Some positions at ISU may require one or more of the following:
Experience:
* Storing, retrieving and compiling information in a report format using database software.
* Reviewing/assessing health care claims.
* Reviewing/assessing dental claims.
* Working with sensitive or restricted data.
Some knowledge of:
* Data management.
* Financial record keeping.
Good knowledge of:
* University academic and/or vocational program requirements and experience applying university policies and procedures to determine graduation requirements.

ISU minimum for this classification is $19.01/hour.
