Job Description
The HR Information Systems & Process Manager provides leadership and administration of HR systems to manage the overall integrity, integration, functionality and delivery of the Universitys HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, evaluation, training, and other related HR systems. This position will identify and lead projects to maximize HR systems utilization and continual improvement for campus stakeholders. The individual will be accountable for maintaining data integrity and ensuring the accuracy of all transactions, procedures, reporting, and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- HRIS Leadership:
Oversees the development, testing, implementation and updates of HR systems. Manages and oversees all aspects of HR data security, provides leadership with system access decision recommendations, develops and maintains efficient HR security operations for the campus community. Works closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate, prioritize, and lead enhancement requests, while defining the project scope, goals, and deliverables. Leads and manages the HRIS and processing team, ensuring effective collaboration, performance, and alignment with organizational goals. Provides guidance and support to team members, fostering a high-performing service-oriented, and results-driven environment. - HR System Process Project Management:
Recommends and leads process changes for continued system and process improvement within HR functions to efficiently serve the campus community. Manages system operations, drives efficiencies, and develops strategies to optimize HR system performance and functionality. Takes initiative to understand the systems and reporting needs of team members and campus community to implement automated systems solutions to meet those needs. Plans, seeks input from others, and thinks creatively to ensure best use of technology. Takes risks that lead to improved use of technology and service to constituents. Ensures data integrity, compliance, and quality control across all HR systems by implementing best practices, monitoring processes, and conducting and leading regular audits. - System Liaison:
Serves as a leadership and system liaison with HR System vendors including Cornerstone, Ellucian, Millennium Fast, and others to maximize system capabilities and maintain relationships for positive and efficient system outcomes. Serves as system liaison with Human Resources and key university constituents including Information Technology Services, Finance and University Planning, and Academic Affairs. - Data Optimization and Reporting:
Responsible for the management and analysis of SCT Banner and HRIS system functionality; assesses functionality to the Universitys Human Resource and Payroll operations; recommends, tests and implements approved functionality; migrates test functionality to production; evaluates and modifies production functionality in response to changing operational needs and functionality changes (resulting from system upgrades and the application of defect patches). Collaborates with team members on testing for new configurations, updates, and production fixes. Supports team members and employees on system functionality. Provides ongoing support for users, troubleshooting issues and making recommendations as needed.
The ability to work a regular schedule consistent with the needs of the university is an essential function of this position. All other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (in lieu of a bachelors degree, a minimum of six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
- Five years professional work experience in information technology systems administration support and analysis
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing and managing service-driven teams to achieve project outcomes
- Experience with project management related to IT systems (preferably HR/Payroll)
- Experience effectively communicating and responding to customer and stakeholder groups at all organizational levels
- Demonstrated technical expertise with report writing systems/tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior professional experience in Higher Education
- Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP systems and recruitment software
- Familiarity with SQL related to reporting systems
- Prior experience working with vendors to ensure effective definition of and delivery of service functions
Additional Information

Salary will be between $70,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
